What is Mounjaro?
Mounjaro (tirzepatide) is a weekly prescription medication that works by mimicking two naturally occurring hormones in your body: GIP and GLP-1. These hormones play a key role in regulating your appetite and signalling to your brain that you are full. By activating these natural signals, Mounjaro helps to reduce food cravings and control hunger, making it easier to manage your calorie intake. From a medical perspective, we view this as a powerful biological tool that works most effectively alongside a balanced diet and physical activity

Mounjaro Dosing
What if I miss a dose?
• If it has been 4 days or less since you should have taken your dose, inject it as soon as you remember. Then, take your next dose as usual on your scheduled day
• If it has been more than 4 days since you should have taken your dose, skip the missed dose. Take your next dose as usual on your scheduled day. Do not take a double dose to make up for a forgotten one.
Mounjaro Administration
Before you use Mounjaro for the first time, your healthcare provider should show you how to inject it. Always read the full "Instructions for Use" leaflet provided with your medicine.
-
Prepare: Inspect the vial. Do not use it if it is damaged, or if the medicine looks cloudy or has particles in it.
-
Choose Your Injection Site: You can inject into the skin of your stomach (abdomen), your thigh, or your upper arm.
-
Rotate Your Site: You must change (rotate) your injection site each week. This helps reduce the risk of skin problems.
-
Inject: Follow the steps in the "Instructions for Use" to prepare and inject your dose.
-
Dispose: Dispose of your used syringe and needle safely in a sharps container. Never share or reuse your needles or syringes.

Important Note: Every time you inject, select a new location that is at least a finger's width apart from the previous site. Rotating your injection sites is crucial for preventing the development of persistent, hard lumps (fatty nodules), which can form and reduce how well your medication works.
Mounjaro Side Effects
Like all medicines, Mounjaro can cause side effects, although not everybody will experience them. It's important to be aware of what to look for.
Very Common Side Effects (may affect more than 1 in 10 people): Nausea, diarrhoea, constipation, and vomiting. These are often not severe and tend to decrease over time. Low blood sugar (hypoglycaemia) is very common when Mounjaro is used with other diabetes medicines that contain a sulphonylurea or insulin. Your doctor may need to adjust the dose of your other medicines to reduce this risk. Signs of low blood sugar include headache, drowsiness, weakness, dizziness, feeling hungry, confusion, irritability, fast heartbeat, and sweating.
Signs of acute pancreatitis (severe, long-lasting stomach pain that may move to the back)
Severe allergic reactions (breathing problems, swelling of face/throat, wheezing, fast heartbeat)
Bowel obstruction (severe constipation with stomach ache, bloating, vomiting)

Lorem Ipsum is simply dummy text of the printing and typesetting industry. Lorem Ipsum has been the industry's standard dummy text ever since the 1500s, when an unknown printer took a galley of type and scrambled it to make a type specimen book. It has survived not only five centuries, but also the leap into electronic typesetting, remaining essentially unchanged. It was popularised in the 1960s with the release of Letraset sheets containing Lorem Ipsum passages, and more recently with desktop publishing software like Aldus PageMaker including versions of Lorem Ipsum.
